Design Commitee
BlendWebMix will take place in Lyon, France for the 7th year on October 24 & 25, 2018. Every year, we meet for 2 intense days of “blending” with all the local web actors to discuss, learn and broaden our disciplines and methods. The fantastic team of volunteers behind BlendWebMix has kept the best of its previous instances and keeps on innovating to offer a programme built around the 3 usual pillars we know: tech, business and design.
This year, La Cuisine du Web invited local design organisations to join the editorial committee. Les Designers Lyonnais, IxDA and Ethics By Design are working together on a tailor made programme mixing ethics, interaction / service design and systemic thinking.
We believe that design has yet to find its nobility in France. That is why we decided to rally around a mission of fostering awareness through an inspiring programme. The latter will confirm that design is above all a systemic discipline and will show what too often lays hidden under visual artefacts. We are convinced that design can improve the condition of all living things. Sounds promising, right?
Around BlendWebMix’s 2018 theme “New digital identities”, we have defined three facets on which we will seek and select our speakers:
- design as a vector for individual, collective and community-based identities,
- design as a vector to convey values and vision hands-on,
- design as a lever for sustainability, prosperity and social progress.
We are so impatient to read your submissions to our Call for Papers (in French or in English) and will be delighted to welcome you in Lyon next October. See you soon!
